First attempt at this.

Well here goes........ If you think chickens have no character, think again.  I  only started my hen village last July with 3 chickens, and have added 7 more  making 10 all together.  Each chicken has its own personality, especially Mabel who writes her own monthly newletter letting all our neighbours know what is going on in own little back garden principality. In fact this blog is being written in future by the hens.  Unfortunately we had a visit from a fox last Saturday and it took 7 of the hens away and the remaining 3 have been so traumatised it will take a while for them to come to terms with the tragedy.

We are expecting to increase our flock in about 3 weeks with some lovely free range rescue girlies.  We will be giving them new ankle braclets, so they can be identified.  We have decided against naming them, as we did the last ones, so they will be know as one - two -three etc.

If you would like the last 7 funny newsletters please reply to this blog and I will post them, this will also enable me to see if anyone is reading this account of a hens day and the funny things that happen.  For the last new hens we had a hen naming day and tea and biscuits and a draw and made £50 for our local ABC animal Sanctury.

I am not sure how much I can write, so for now I will finish this part 1 and see what the result is and keep you all up to date with the progress of the remaining hens and the preperation of the 7 new hens.
